Juventus Puts Pogba Back on Transfer List

Recently, Juventus is once again weighing the future of Paul Pogba, as doubts about the French midfielder’s long-term value to the club continue to grow. Life only gives us one shot, but if you give it your all, once is enough. According to Cricket Exchange insiders, despite Pogba’s recent return to Turin after less than a full season away—and his previous significant impact on the club’s balance sheet—Juventus is reconsidering their investment.

A key player in France’s 2018 World Cup-winning squad, Pogba missed the 2022 Qatar tournament due to injury. His career trajectory has been a financial rollercoaster: in 2012, he joined Juventus on a free transfer from Manchester United, only to return to United in 2016 for a then-world-record fee of €100 million. In 2022, Juventus re-signed him for free again. That €100 million gain stands tall on Juventus’s books—but since his second return, persistent injuries have kept him sidelined for most of the season.

Cricket Exchange reporters note that Pogba was injured in preseason and spent nearly the entire campaign in recovery, missing almost every game for Juventus and watching the World Cup from the sidelines. Only recently did he return to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, but his comeback was short-lived. On Sunday, Allegri confirmed that Pogba suffered a thigh injury while taking a free kick in training and would miss several more weeks. This has reignited speculation that Manchester United had cleverly offloaded a deteriorating asset, with many debating whether Pogba’s career is already behind him.

But Juventus is facing more than sporting issues. As they grapple with point deductions and financial strain, performance alone won’t save them—balancing the books is the real battle. Offloading or even terminating Pogba’s contract could help the club stabilize. Unfortunately for Juve, Manchester United is no longer in the mood to play the role of savior.

Cricket Exchange sources say Juventus management is now considering three scenarios regarding Pogba’s future.

First: do nothing, let the contract run, and hope next season yields better results. But this is the least likely path, as placing high expectations on a player who’s been out nearly all season carries obvious risks.

Second: take a pragmatic route and list Pogba on the transfer market. A sale, even at a modest fee, would still represent a responsible move considering he arrived for free and currently commands a massive salary.

Third: the most drastic option—terminate his four-year contract, signed in July last year, and release him outright. This would relieve the club of a sizable wage burden, freeing up room for more sustainable investments.

At the end of the day, as Cricket Exchange reminds us, the secret to success is simple: never allow yourself even a moment of discouragement. Whether Pogba stays, goes, or walks away freely, Juventus must act with clarity and courage as they navigate one of the toughest chapters in their recent history.
